Terms of Service

      Summary: SoFocus is a social focus app that uses Apple
      Screen Time to help you and your friends stay accountable. You control
      your Screen Time authorization. Your squad can see your focus activity.
      These terms govern your use of the app.
    

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SoFocus ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). The App is provided by Pack6 LLC ("we," "us," "our"), a company registered in Jamaica. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

SoFocus is a mobile application for iOS that helps you stay focused through squad-based social accountability. The App uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity) to block distracting apps during focus sessions. Squad members can see each other's focus activity, including session times, scores, streaks, and leaderboard rankings.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use SoFocus. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. Screen Time & Family Controls Authorization

SoFocus requires your authorization to use Apple's Screen Time frameworks to block apps during focus sessions. You acknowledge and agree that:

You grant Screen Time authorization voluntarily when prompted by the App
SoFocus uses this authorization solely to block distracting apps during focus sessions you initiate or that are scheduled by your squad
You can revoke Screen Time authorization at any time in your device's Settings > Screen Time
Revoking authorization will prevent the App from blocking apps during focus sessions but will not affect existing iOS Screen Time settings you configured outside of SoFocus
SoFocus cannot see which specific apps you have installed or use — the Screen Time framework uses opaque tokens that only your device can interpret

Important: When Screen Time authorization is active, SoFocus will restrict access to apps you selected as distracting during focus sessions. If you need immediate access to a blocked app during a session, you must request an early unlock from your squad. SoFocus is not responsible for any inconvenience caused by app restrictions during active focus sessions.

5. Squad Participation

SoFocus is built around social accountability. By joining or creating a squad, you acknowledge and agree that:

Your squad members can see your focus activity, including session times, duration, scores, and streaks
If you request an early unlock during a focus session, your squad members will be notified and may need to approve the request
Distraction attempts during sessions may be detected and visible to your squad
Weekly leaderboard rankings within your squad are visible to all squad members
You are responsible for your conduct within squads, including messages and interactions with other members

6. Your Account & Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and device. You agree to:

Provide accurate information when creating your profile
Keep your authentication credentials secure
Notify us if you believe your account has been compromised

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use SoFocus to:

Harass, bully, or intimidate other users through squad features
Create fake accounts or multiple accounts to manipulate leaderboards or game the scoring system
Attempt to bypass, circumvent, or disable the app-blocking mechanisms
Send spam or unsolicited invitations to people who have not consented
Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations

8. Intellectual Property

The SoFocus app, including its design, code, graphics, and brand identity, is the intellectual property of Pack6 LLC. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms and the Apple App Store terms.

9. Data & Privacy

Your use of SoFocus is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, how Screen Time data is handled, and how we protect your information. By using the App, you agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

SoFocus is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Pack6 LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that:

The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure
Screen Time blocking will function perfectly in all scenarios — Apple's frameworks may behave differently across iOS versions
Focus sessions will always be tracked accurately, especially during device restarts or operating system updates

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Pack6 LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of productivity, or missed deadlines arising out of or related to your use of SoFocus, regardless of the theory of liability.

In no event shall Pack6 LLC's total cumulative liability exceed the amount you have paid for SoFocus in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pack6 LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable laws.

13. Termination

You may stop using SoFocus at any time by deleting the App from your device. We may terminate or suspend your access to the App if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:

Your license to use the App ends
Screen Time restrictions managed by SoFocus will be removed from your device when the App is deleted
Your squad data and session history will be retained on our servers until you request account deletion

Sections 8, 10, 11, and 12 survive termination.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Jamaica, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jamaica.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and notify users through an in-app notice. Your continued use of SoFocus after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Pack6 LLC regarding your use of SoFocus and supersede any prior agreements.
